The Costa Rican nationals are affectionately known as Ticos. As a follow up to the 7 Types of Gringos you meet in Costa Rica, we present the Tico version.
1. The Fake Rasta
There’s a difference between being homeless and being a rasta. Unfortunately he hasn’t distinguished the two!
2. The San Jose Baller
This is when you discover that not everybody drives a 4×4 here. She can usually be seen rolling in her BMW and letting the colones flow at the bar.
3. The Surf Instructor
He has you surfing like a pro in less than 30 minutes. If only your junior high football coach could see you now.
4. The Salsa Master
Pretty sure this Tico came into the world dancing. Relax, stay loose, keep drinking and they’ll make you look like a star on the dance floor even if you have 2 left feet.
5. The Perfect English Speaker
They told you everybody here speaks English, but they didn’t warn you some of the Ticos speak it better than you do!
