Costa Rica is not only the best place in the world to surf warm water waves, but it’s also the best place to live if you’re a ski or snowboard fanatic.
It doesn’t actually snow in Costa Rica, BUT you can ski all year round…
That’s right, since Costa Rica is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, flying to and from your favorite ski destinations is super easy and cheap.
More importantly, you can ski all year round when you live in Costa Rica. Remember, Costa Rica is in Central America. Key word here is Central. It’s central to both North America and South America, so when one winter is over, another winter is just beginning.
You can fly from Costa Rica to Santiago, Chile for around $600. Check out the itinerary below for a ski trip in August (one of the best months to ski in South America) to Chile. There are several resorts within a 2 hour drive of Santiago.
Here’s a flight to Denver, Colorado for less than $500 from Costa Rica’s other popular airport Liberia. And this is less than 8 hours of traveling with only 1 stop!
