Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide announced an agreement with Desarrollos Hoteleros Guanacaste S.A. (DHG) to bring the iconic W brand in Costa Rica. W Costa Rica – Reserva Conchal will be the brand’s first tropical escape in Latin America.
“As we continue to pursue aggressive expansion in Latin America, the agreement to develop W Costa Rica – Reserva Conchal is an exciting addition to our pipeline,” said Jorge Giannattasio, Senior Vice-president and Chief of Latin America Operations for Starwood Hotels & Resorts. “Following the recent successful opening of W Bogota, we are eager to premiere the iconic W brand in new countries in the region and look forward to bringing the brand to Panama in 2017, followed by Costa Rica in 2019.”
W Costa Rica – Reserva Conchal bring innovative design, signature amenities and unique style. Part of a mixed used development in Reserva Conchal located in the Pacific coast province of Guanacaste, nearby facilities include a Robert Trent Jones II golf course and a variety of outdoor recreation and nightlife entertainment options. The hotel will be located just 30 minutes from the popular tourist destination of Tamarindo, already known for a vibrant nightlife scene.

The beachside escape will feature 151 guestrooms and suites, a signature restaurant, the W Living Room where guests can enjoy cocktails and weekly happenings showcasing music, fashion and design; the hotel’s destination bar for nightlife; and an Away spa and WET deck, featuring an infinity pool with views of the tropical surroundings. The hotel will also have meeting space for special events.
