It’s that time of year again for everyone’s favorite charity event coming up April 15-17.

A three-day event, created by Robert August, with surf competition, 4-man scramble golf tournament, silent auction, parties and an awards ceremony, all to benefit CEPIA (Culture, Education, and Psychology for Infants and Adolescents), a non-profit in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Robert August actively participates in his event called the Robert August Surf & Turf Charity Challenge held at the Hacienda Pinilla Golf Resort.

CEPIA sponsors the local children and families from poor backgrounds, promoting culture, health, sports and education. They do this with local fundraisers within the community, government support, and amazing volunteers. With the money raised CEPIA (www.cepiacostarica.org) has provided English classes, after school programs, a community center, youth entrepreneur courses, summer camps and much much more!!!

The founder of the event, Robert August is a surfer and shaper from Seal Beach, California. He is known for Bruce Brown’s 1966 documentary, “The Endless Summer”, as well as “The Endless Summer II,” in 1994, where they visit Tamarindo, Costa Rica. This is where he currently shares his time, with the States, shaping boards for Witch’s Rock Surf Camp, and being an active member of the community.
